Man attacked by hammer-wielding thug

A hammer-wielding thug attacked a 37-year-old man after a dispute in the Outer Sunset district on Wednesday, police said.

The victim told cops the thug “made a derogatory gesture at him” in the 2500 block of Sloat Boulevard around 7:40 a.m. The victim got out of his car to confront the suspect, who was in his early 40s, police said.

The suspect whipped out a hammer and struck the victim in the left ear, police said. He fled, and there has been no arrest.
