Man assaulted with baseball bat in Bernal Heights

A man was assaulted with a baseball bat in Bernal Heights on Sunday, police said.

The 41-year-old victim was in an argument with a 26-year-old man in the 100 block of Highland Avenue about 11 p.m., police said, when the younger man became agitated, went and got a baseball bat, struck the victim in the head and fled the scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was treated for a laceration above the eye and abrasion to the head. His injuries were not life threatening.

No arrest has been made.
