A man was arrested Monday on multiple arson charges after he reportedly doused the floor of a Mission district Foods Co. with lighter fluid and set it ablaze, Officer Albie Esparza said.

Shaun Lavell Jones, 24, who has no known address, is alleged to have walked into the Foods Co. in the 1800 block of Folsom Street about 6:30 p.m. waving a knife and pouring lighter fluid on the floor and then lighting it, Esparza said.

The Fire Department was called and extinguished the blaze, and police took Jones into custody, Esparza said.

Two security guards were treated at the hospital for smoke inhalation, Esparza said, but their injuries were not life-threatening.
