A mother was assaulted by her son with a cake cutter near City College of San Francisco on Monday, police Officer Gordon Shyy said.

The 52-year-victim was arguing with her son, Nathan Nounou, 21, in their home in the 100 block of Valdez Avenue about 5:17 p.m., Shyy said, when the argument escalated and Nounou allegedly grabbed the cake cutter and slashed his mother in her face, arms and legs.

The mother ran out of the house and her son was subsequently arrested, Shyy said.

The mother sustained multiple lacerations and bruises but refused treatment, Shyy said.

Nounou was booked into county jail on assault with a deadly weapon and attempted homicide charges, Shyy said.
