A jealous ex-boyfriend stabbed his former girlfriend with an ice pick last week — and even robbed her — as they were driving in the Outer Mission district, according to police.
Virgo Guandique, 46, of San Francisco pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges stemming from the Feb. 7 attack in the 900 block of Huron Street that left the woman with a serious injury.
Officers responded about 5 p.m. to a report of an assault and robbery. On their way, however, they were informed that the victim was already being treated at a hospital. The victim told the officers that her ex-boyfriend stabbed her as they were leaving her Huron Street home. He reportedly became enraged after questioning her about another relationship, police said.
“During the assault ... she said the suspect also took her purse,” police at Ingleside station said.
She managed to flee the vehicle at a stoplight, and a friend drove her to the hospital.
Guandique has been charged with four felony counts, including criminal threats, domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon and robbery, said Assistant District Attorney Alex Bastian. A judge issued a protective order and set bail at $250,000. Guandique is next scheduled to appear in court Feb. 27.
