Vincent Matteucci, 39, has pleaded not guilty to felony assault charges related to the alleged attack on Oct. 21, the same day the BART strike ended.
After another man hollered at a group of BART employees, “Get your asses back to work,” Matteucci allegedly threw the hammer at the victims, missing them by 15 feet, according to prosecutors. He was arrested at the scene and reportedly found with a metal straight pick in his pocket.
CHILD PORN CASE HEARING TO BEGIN FOR FEDERAL AGENT
The preliminary hearing for a U.S. Department of Homeland Security agent charged with child pornography possession is set to start today, prosecutors said.
Gilbert Lam was arrested in March after his San Francisco home was raided by a San Jose police task force in 2011. Eighty videos of child pornography were allegedly found in the home. Lam allegedly placed the child pornography on a file-sharing program and made it available for download online.
CLOSING ARGUMENTS IN DALY CITY MURDER CASE
Closing arguments are expected to resume Tuesday in the case against Reynaldo Maldonado, who is accused of helping murder a Daly City teenager in 2001.
Quetzlcoatl Alba, 15, was found stabbed to death in a storage unit at the Westlake Apartments that had become a teen hangout. Arrests were not made in the case until 2007. A police tip led to the discovery of bloody clothing, a knife and Alba’s phone behind a house where Maldonado and co-defendant Eric Morales had lived at the time, prosecutors say.
Prosecutors believe Maldonado held down Alba while Morales stabbed him repeatedly.

Gina Eunice allegedly struck several pedestrians, killing 56-year-old Chinese citizen Yuee Yao, about 8:50 p.m. Dec. 20. The collision occurred on Christmas Tree Point Road, police said, and the victims were knocked down a hill after being struck. Eunice, who allegedly had a blood alcohol content of .23 at the time, was located in a damaged sedan at a nearby parking lot, police said.
