Two lanes on south Interstate 280 are blocked causing a major traffic backup after a vehicle flipped, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. Thursday at the Monterey Boulevard exit, according to CHP.
Two vehicles were involved and blocked two lanes. A green Jeep Cherokee reportedly flipped and landed on its driver side doors. The second vehicle is a Black Lexus sedan.
Officer Eric Anderson said one person was injured and complained of minor pain. The fast and middle lanes are blocked with the crash. An estimated time the lanes would open was not available.
Traffic is backing up to the Highway 101 interchange and the wet weather did not make the afternoon commute any easier. Slow traffic is reported in and out of San Francisco at 5:30 p.m.
