After months of steadfastly refusing to accept a plea bargain, Lindsay Lohan has finally accepted the fact that she’s better off playing ball with prosecutors, TMZ reports. The actress is said to have resigned herself to serving her 120-day sentence for probation violation, and copping a plea of no contest to misdemeanor theft charges — though she maintains she didn’t steal a necklace from a boutique, as she’s accused of doing.
LiLo is reportedly keeping her fingers crossed that the judge won’t tack on additional time to that sentence, which also entails 480 hours of community service. A rep for the L.A. County Sheriff’s office estimates that would translate to about three weeks of actual jail time.
With the starlet reputedly tapped for a potentially career-rebooting role in the upcoming John Gotti biopic, it makes sense that she would want to put this whole incident behind her. Could this really, truly, finally be the last of Lindsay’s legal woes?
Saturday was a big day for Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. The couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary … and oh yeah, they welcomed twins — a girl, born first, then a boy, a rep confirmed.
“My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life!” Nick tweeted. “I won’t ever be able to top this!”
There was a wacky mixup en route to the hospital: An understandably jittery Nick arrived at the wrong unit of the hospital and needed a nurse to lead him to the maternity ward. “It was right out of an ‘I Love Lucy’ skit,” the rep crowed to “Us.”
Nick said Thursday on “The View” that he and Mimi renew our vows every year” and predicted, “It’s probably going to be in the hospital this year. I can feel it.”
“We got the minister coming in, so this gown will not be a wedding gown, but a hospital gown,” he added.
But when asked whether the couple had planned the timing, the diva’s rep told “People,” “No, not even Mariah could plan that.”
We can’t help but wonder whether Nick and Mariah will continue renewing their vows every year on their anniversary while simultaneously throwing their children birthday parties. Sounds like a lot of celebrating, but if anyone’s up to it, it’s them. Congratulations to the happy family!
Last week, we told you — with much trepidation — that former “Jersey Shore” housemate Angelina Pivarnick is pregnant. But she oddly wouldn’t ID the dad, despite being engaged. Now David Kovacs, the reality star’s fiance, tells Radar Online that he broke up with her after discovering that she cheated.
David says he got a text from another man apologizing for getting intimate with Angelina before learning she was engaged.
“I actually found a pair of guy’s underwear in her car,” he adds.
David proposed in February — on a red carpet, leading to suspicion it was all a publicity stunt. But he maintains, “I truly fell in love with this girl and wanted to have a family and grow old with her.”
And yet we’re somehow not surprised that didn’t work out.
