Pitching in to help seniors

Thanks to The San Francisco Examiner for listing the film "Cyber Seniors" at the Roxie Theater in the Mission.

How bizarre to see this film -- about tech-savvy teens working with isolated seniors on Internet activities like Facebook, YouTube and email -- in San Francisco, the geographic center for housing most of the high-tech workers. How many Facebook, Google and Apple employees live within 20 blocks of 16th and Valencia?

So I was surprised to hear no when I asked The City's representative for www.sfconnected.org if they were getting support from most of these tech companies (Google and Salesforce were listed in support).

Assisting this nonprofit group to bridge the digital divide seems a no-brainer for our new neighbors to pitch in on. I counted five tech shuttle buses on my way to the 7 p.m. showing, and three on the way home at 9 p.m.!
