Leland Yee introduces plan that can save taxpayers millions 

The state senator introduced legislation that his office said could save taxpayers millions of dollars by requiring public agencies to seek competitive bids for energy-related projects. State law currently exempts solar and other energy projects from competitive-bidding requirements, Yee’s office said, meaning schools and other public agencies might be wasting millions of dollars by only considering one bid on such projects.
