  • Police have released video surveillance footage taken from a Muni vehicle of a brazen robbery on the T-Third line in the Bayview last month.

Two juveniles were arrested over the weekend in connection with last month's brazen robbery of a 68-year-old woman on Muni's T-Third line in the Bayview, according to police.

Fugitive Watch, a crime-fighting television program airing on Comcast on Demand, received a tip about one of the juveniles after posting surveillance video footage of the attack on its website, Officer Tracy Turner said Thursday. The TV program then passed along the tip to police, she said.

The girl was already in custody on an unrelated case, Turner said, while the second suspect turned herself into police Sunday after seeing herself on TV.

The girls, who are not being identified because they are juveniles, stole two purses from the woman that contained cash and a cellphone during the June 11 attack. The incident occurred about 8:30 p.m. on an outbound train at Third and Carroll streets.

Fugitive Watch was founded more than 20 years ago by former San Jose police officers and claims to have assisted in the capture of more than 2,000 suspects.
