A juvenile male was shot near 5th and Market streets in San Francisco Tuesday afternoon. He was able to flee the scene and get a ride to the hospital before police caught up with him.
The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m., according to San Francisco Police Sgt. Michael Andraychak. The male was shot in the area of 5th Street and Market Street – a busy shopping destination.
Andraychak said the juvenile was able to run west on Turk Street and was picked up in a car by a “good Samaritan” driving by. The car and the victim reached Turk Street and Leavenworth Street before police officers caught up with the car, pulled it over and transported the victim to the hospital by ambulance.
The victim is suffering from non-life threatening injuries, according to Andraychak. There is no suspect information at this time, according to Andraychak. Police continue to investigate the incident.
