Jogger who offered to buy San Francisco baby tells mom ‘think about it’

More details were released Wednesday about the creepy Lake Merced jogger who offered to buy a woman’s baby for $400,000 last week.

The woman was sitting on a bench on the jogging path along John Muir Drive when a jogger in his late 60s stopped to admire her baby boy, police at Taraval Station said.

“What a beautiful baby boy!” he exclaimed, according to the woman. “How would you like to sell him for $400,000 cash?”

The disturbed mom declined the offer. When the strange man continued to hover over her child, she gathered her things and began to leave.

“Think about it,” the weirdo said as the mom left.

The woman told her husband about the frightening encounter. Her husband encouraged her to call police.

Cops say they’ve heard of no other incident like it, but they’re warning folks about the creep.

He is described as a white man between 65 and 70 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches, 160 pounds with white hair and green eyes.

Anyone with information about other incidents are encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.

According to a report from The New York Post last month, a socialite bought a black-market baby for $180,000 before helping the FBI bust the child selling ring.
