Jewish group J Street goes from hiding Soros funding to sending out letters defending him

When we last heard from J Street, the liberal Jewish group founded by the left to counter the influence of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s (AIPAC) and has strained diplomatic relations with Israel, they had been caught lying about receiving funding from left-wing patron George Soros:

The Jewish-American advocacy group J Street, which bills itself as the dovish alternative to the influential American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) lobby, has secretly received funding from billionaire George Soros despite previous denials that it accepted funds from the Hungarian-born financier and liberal political activist.

Tax forms obtained by The Washington Times reveal that Mr. Soros and his two children, Jonathan and Andrea Soros, contributed a total $245,000 to J Street from one Manhattan address in New York during the fiscal year from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009.

J Street’s head had even complained, “We got tagged as having his support, without the benefit of actually getting funded!” Well, what a difference two months makes. J Street is now sending out promotional emails defending Soros. From their latest blast email promoting their upcoming conference:

As the President tries to seize a last opportunity for Middle East peace before his re-election campaign begins, what voices will he hear?

Republican Whip Eric Cantor telling the media that he’ll be a “check” on the Obama Administration’s pro-Israel, pro-peace pursuit of a two-state solution?

Glenn Beck attacking George Soros?

Neoconservative political operatives saying the Administration is in political trouble with Jewish Americans?

Emphasis added. As we well know, peace in the Middle East hinges on making sure that conservative talk show hosts in America don’t criticize left-wing atheist George Soros. That has next to nothing to do with J Street’s policy agenda, but I guess now that their credibility is already ruined by lying about their Soros funding, they might as well just go ahead and shill for him transparently.
