Investigation continuing on fatal officer involved shooting 

San Francisco police are continuing to investigate an incident in which officers shot and killed a man in Bernal

Heights Park Friday after he apparently pointed a weapon at them, police said.

Officers were called to the park around 7:10 p.m. after receiving reports of a man with a gun, according to Sgt. Danielle Newman.

Officers encountered a male subject with a weapon, and when he allegedly pointed the weapon at them, they opened fire, Newman said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and police located an additional weapon, Newman said.
