Housing Authority Commission members sought

Mayor Gavin Newsom is asking interested Housing Authority tenants to apply for two of the soon-to-be vacant Housing Authority Commission seats.

These two members must be residents of San Francisco and be Housing Authority tenants; one of them must be over 62 years of age.  The Housing Authority Commission consists of seven members who are appointed by the mayor.

The Commission oversees the Housing Authority for San Francisco, working to provide decent, safe, and sanitary housing for low-income residents.

“As we continue to work to improve San Francisco Housing Authority properties and rebuild Hunters View, Potrero, Sunnydale, Westside, and Alice Griffith under HOPE SF, it is important that we have strong tenant advocate members that understand the issues currently facing tenants and hold the Housing Authority Commission accountable to the community,” said Newsom.  “We must together finish the job of making sure every single remaining public housing unit is rebuilt.”
