House Budget Committee starts considering Ryan budget plan

On Wednesday morning the House Budget Committee opened its hearing to markup, or formally rewrite, the GOP Budget plan offered Tuesday by the panel's chairman, Rep. Paul Ryan.

Throughout the day, Democrats and Republicans on the committee will be trading barbs as well as offering and voting on amendments to the budget.

At the opening of the hearing, Ryan said the process would conclude no later than midnight.
