Just like Santa Claus, he didn’t forget us this Christmas.
He could’ve just passed us right over and headed back home to Michigan, but no, Bob Seger will be dropping down the metaphorical chimney of Oakland’s Oracle Arena on Dec. 21, on his tour that keeps on giving.
He initially set out on what was only supposed to be a quick 18-date jaunt this year, but the overwhelming reaction to his return made him triple the number of dates. On New Year’s Eve, Date No. 50, he will wrap up this juggernaut in Las Vegas.
And if you doubt Seger’s Herculean staying power, his recent digitally remastered live albums, the old catalog chestnuts “Live Bullet” and “Nine Tonight,” just bowed in on the Billboard charts at No. 4 and No. 7, respectively, and a free bonus EP he issued through iTunes to celebrate the reissues resulted in over 1,698,000 tracks being downloaded, gratis.
Old time rock and roll, indeed.
Tickets for his Bay Area date will go on sale Saturday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m. For more, visit www.bobseger.com.
So get ready — Christmas is coming four days early this year!
