Heartless crook assaults homeless woman, steals her wheelchair

A heartless crook threatened and assaulted a 59-year-old homeless woman before stealing her wheelchair near Yerba Buena Gardens on Friday, police said Monday.

The victim was at Fourth and Mission streets about 8:30 p.m. when she was approached by the female suspect who told the victim she couldn't panhandle on that block.

The fiend then threw the woman to the ground and took off in an unknown direction with the victim's wheelchair, police said.

The suspect was described as being in her late 30s or early 40s, police said. No arrest has been made.
