Hearing scheduled on Muni switchbacks

The unannounced short turnarounds that Muni Light Rail vehicles were making in the Sunset neighborhood will have their day in court, in a sense.

On Monday, Supervisor Carmen Chu and the City Operations and Neighborhood Services Committee will hold a public hearing on the practice, known as switchbacks, that forced riders to get off before the end of the line.

The lines that have done this most often in recent months include the L-Taraval, M-Ocean View and N-Judah.

The hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at City Hall, room 250.
