Halle Berry famously swore off marriage after two failed ones, but evidently she’s ready to give it another shot! The Oscar winner is reportedly engaged to French actor beau Olivier Martinez after dating for more than a year.
A source tells Us that Halle “had given up on being married, but she trusts Olivier. He makes her feel safe. He’s a keeper!”
Reportedly, Olivier, a former beau of Australian pop star Kylie Minogue, proposed over the holidays (seriously, did everyone in Hollywood get engaged over the holidays?), offering up an emerald-and-diamond ring that the jeweler avows is “one of a kind.”
The pair met while filming the movie “Dark Tides,” shortly after the “Catwoman” star split with model Gabriel Aubry, the father of her now-3-year-old daughter Nahla. They had been together for almost five years. Previously, Halle was married to R&B singer Eric Benet, and baseball player David Justice.
We’re happy to hear Halle’s finally found The One! Here’s hoping the third time really is the charm.
Forget reports that Scarlett Johansson and her mom are on the outs, her rep insists to the New York Post. Despite reports they clashed over money, “Scarlett and Melanie are as close as they have ever been,” a rep said. “They are incredibly proud of the solid and productive professional partnership they had through the many years they worked together. Their personal relationship is solid and loving.”
It’s a bit odd to have your publicist have to defend your relationship with your mother — but such is fame, we suppose.
Justin Bieber is very philosophical for his young age. In an interview with V magazine, the teenage singer waxes thoughtful about his public persona and his identity as a musician. (Yes, we called him a musician.)
“I’m still learning,” says the pop heartthrob. “I’m not going to try to conform to what people want me to be, or go out there and start partying, have people see me with alcohol. I want to do it at my own pace.”
“I don’t want to start singing about things like sex, drugs and swearing,” says the “Baby” singer. “I’m into love, and maybe I’ll get more into making love when I’m older. But I want to be someone who is respected by everybody.”
We’re going to file this quote away right now. No doubt if the Biebs is still in the business five years from now, interviewers will be trotting it out before they ask him about his new album “Sex, Drugs and Swearing.”
