Hall readies for release of brand new album, sans Oates

You have to hand it to Hall and Oates mainstay Daryl Hall – the guy sure as hell stays busy. If he’s not touring with John Oates as the No. 1-selling duo in music history, he’s pursuing the hobby that makes him happiest - buying centuries-old East Coast houses and refurbishing them.

Oh yes, and that other little diversion that keeps him occupied: his hugely popular Web series “Live At Daryl’s House,” wherein today’s biggest stars drop by for a bit of enlightening jam-session improv. The show is so good, in fact, it won a 2010 Webby in the Variety category.

But on Sept. 27, Hall will remind of one other little fact – that he’s possibly the best blue-eyed soul singer on the planet, as he releases a brand-new solo set, “Laughing Down Crying.” The sessions feature the last recorded performances of late bassist T-Bone Wolk, who’d been with H&O since 1981’s “Private Eyes” until his untimely passing last year.

The track listing is: “Laughing Down Crying,” “Talking To Myself,” “Lifetime Of Love,” “Eyes For You,” “Save Me,” “Message To Ya,” “Wrong Side Of History,” “Get Out Of The Way,” “Crash And Burn” and “Problem With You.” And you can bide your time until it hits the street by checking out those legendary pipes at www.livefromdarylshouse.com.
