Hahn says she still has a good chance in lt. gov. race

Mayor Gavin Newsom’s rival in the Democratic primary race for lieutenant governor says she is still running a strong race despite today’s poll that showed Newsom well-positioned to win next Tuesday’s race.

Newsom holds a 17-point lead, according to poll released by Tulchin Research today. The poll shows that 46 percent of likely Democratic primary voters support Newsom compared to 29 percent who say they will support Los Angeles City Councilwoman Janice Hahn. Newsom also leads by a wider margin among voters who have already cast their ballots as he garners a solid majority, according to the poll.

But Michael Trujillo, campaign manager for Hahn, responded saying “We believe with our campaign ad up and running in California we can get our message out, fixing the education system, protecting our environment and fighting for all communities.”
