When Gwyneth Paltrow appeared at a charity book event to promote her cookbook “It’s All Good,” the rest of the writers there became instantly eclipsed by her more perfect sun.
“Author’s night at East Hampton Library highjacked by movie stars with ghost-written cookbooks,” tweeted “Bright Lights, Big City” author Jay McInerney.
Paltrow’s wake included her husband, kids and a retinue of hired security, according to USA Today. Fellow writer Christina Oxenberg said in her blog that she was forced to crawl under a table to regain entry after Paltrow’s bodyguards “body blocked” her.
It was Paltrow’s fans that caused the most havoc though. Writes Oxenberg, “The worshippers blocked my view of the whole world, abusing my tiny territory upon which to abandon their trash or lean their sorry asses.”
