GOP: Quit trying to make Jeb Bush happen

What's the matter? Unsatisfied with how the 2012 Republican field is shaping up? Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was in Denver today, offering proof that he is not running. From the Denver Post:

While he is sympathetic to the plight of Arizona officials forced to deal with all the problems linked to a porous frontier, he believes there are solutions other than a law criminalizing illegal immigrants, he said.

"It's the wrong approach," he said. "The net result is not much has been done."

He said if the U.S. deported 12 million illegal immigrants from across the country, it would cost billions and not be very effective.

That's right -- Jeb Bush doesn't care for Arizona's immigration law. To that end, he is more President Obama than Republican primary voter. The Post noted that Bush, "quipped that it was obvious he was not running for office, noting that his views differed from those of most of his Republican colleagues."

Sounding more like his brother the former president, Bush said he believes better border security and "programs to more smoothly integrate" immigrants is the better way.
