Giants pitcher Brian Wilson to debut short film

Brian Wilson can certainly pitch, but can he pitch ideas for a funny film?

The wacky relief pitcher for the San Francisco Giants with the famous black beard has co-written and acted in a series of digital short films. He is set to debut one of them Thursday on TBS’s “Lopez Tonight.” The show begins at 9 p.m.

Wilson acted as creative consultant and did some of his own ad-libbing in the comedic films, according to 2K Sports, the sports videogame developer that teamed with the pitcher on the films.

The films will be featured in 2K Sports’ yet-to-be-released game, Major League Baseball 2K11.

The eccentric Wilson has been all about television lately. After the Giants won the World Series last year, he appeared on "The Tonight Show."

The pitcher might also add “reality star” to his Hollywood résumé. Showtime has opted to feature the Giants in a reality show following their 2011 season.
