The Giants chose to non-tender right-handed reliever Sandy Rosario and outfielder Francisco Peguero on Monday, making both free agents. San Francisco did tender contracts to all five of its arbitration eligible players: first baseman Brandon Belt, infielder Joaquin Arias, outfielder Gregor Blanco, right-hander Yusmeiro Petit and infielder Tony Abreu.

Teams had until midnight to offer 2014 contracts to unsigned players on their 40-man rosters.

Nats acquire Fister: The Detroit Tigers traded right-hander Doug Fister to the Washington Nationals for three players in a deal between teams with deep rotations. Detroit acquired infielder Steve Lombardozzi, minor league lefty Robbie Ray and reliever Ian Krol for Fister, a 14-game winner for the AL Central champions.

Blue Jays add Navarro: Catcher Dioner Navarro agreed to an $8 million, two-year contract with Toronto that pays $3 million next year and $5 million in 2015. The 29-year-old batted .300 with a career-high 13 homers and 34 RBIs in 89 games for the Chicago Cubs last season.

Former A’s closer becomes free agent: The World Series champion Boston Red Sox declined to tender contracts to injured reliever Andrew Bailey, who began his career with the A’s, and outfielder Ryan Kalish.
