A German man was stung by federal agents in Los Angeles after he allegedly shipped hundreds of live tarantulas into the United States via the mail. Sven Koppler, 37, was charged with illegally importing wildlife, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles. Koppler came under suspicion in March, following a routine inspection that turned up nearly 300 live tarantulas in a package mailed to Los Angeles.
