A 73-year-old man who was struck Tuesday in a hit-and-run accident on Geary Boulevard died from his injuries, authorities said Thursday.

The man, whose name has been withheld by the Medical Examiner’s Office pending family notification, was hit by a car driven by Ywe E. Emerson at the intersection of Geary Boulevard and 20th Avenue.

Authorities said that Emerson was taking a left turn from 20th Avenue, when he struck the pedestrian, who was walking in a crosswalk.
