The crash occurred near the same South of Market intersection in which an allegedly drunken firefighter at the wheel of a truck crashed into a motorcyclist in July, seriously injuring the man.
The crash Sunday involved a ladder truck and a sedan, and occurred just before 11 a.m. near Fifth and Howard streets, fire Lt. Mindy Talmadge said.
One firefighter on the truck and the driver of the sedan, who was alone in his car, were taken to a hospital, Talmadge said.
The firefighter was treated for a cut to his head and was released. The driver of the car was evaluated at the hospital and was found to be uninjured, Talmadge said.
The fire truck was responding to a call at the time of the crash. — Staff, wire report
