Three people were injured in a one-alarm fire at a Burger King restaurant in The City’s Union Square area this afternoon, a fire dispatcher said.
At about 2:10 p.m., firefighters responded to a report that a flue was on fire at the restaurant, located at 35 Powell St., according to the dispatcher. The blaze was declared under control at 2:36 p.m.
The three victims were taken to St. Francis Memorial Hospital with minor injuries; one with minor burns and the other two due to smoke inhalation.
Crews remained at the scene as of 3:15 p.m.
