Fire crews respond to single-alarm blaze at 69 Fair Oaks St.

A fire at a residence in the Mission Dolores neighborhood Monday morning damaged the kitchen in the ground-floor unit and also the unit above it, the Fire Department said. At 9 a.m., fire crews responded to the single-alarm blaze at 69 Fair Oaks St. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames at the back of the building, which was left with fire, smoke and water damage. "Approximately 48 firefighters responded to the fire, which appears to have originated in the kitchen of the first-floor unit," said Deputy Fire Chief Matthew McNaughton. No injuries were reported.
