Emergency preparedness topic of neighborhood clinic

Neighborhood leaders will soon be trained on how to set up command centers in the event of an emergency.

Rocque Yballa, division chief and fire marshal for the Central County Fire Department, will conduct a clinic for block captains on setting up an Incident Command Center, which would be the base for disaster response.

The clinic will be held Saturday at the Lane Community Room in the Burlingame Public Library, located at 480 Primrose Road. Free coffee, pastries and fruit will be served.

The deadline to register is today. E-mail your RSVP to info@theneighborhoodnetwork.org.

The Burlingame City Council has approved making city rooms available at no charge to groups gathering to learn about crime prevention, emergency preparedness or community-building activities.

Requests must be submitted and approved by the city manager. If interested, visit this page or call the City Manager’s Office at
(650) 558-7204.
