The Eldorado Hotel Casino in Reno, Nev., recently launched a new mobile phone application called the Eldorado Reno. Now anyone with an iPhone, iPad or iTouch can take advantage of the application.
“Anything that makes it better for a guest to stay here or improves upon that experience is something that we are going to look into,” said Chad Hallert, director of Internet marketing and e-Commerce at the Eldorado.
The application was built by San Francisco-based technology company MacroView Labs, and anyone can download the app free from the Apple App Store. More and more companies, including other casinos, are turning toward mobile applications for their marketing initiatives. The Silver Legacy Resort Casino in Reno has also recently released an application called the Silver Legacy.
Eldorado’s application features GPS- or location-enabled content, so if you turn on your application in front of the Brew Brothers microbrewery in the casino, guests will receive a special. Or guests can walk in front of a showroom and a video of the casino’s current show will pop up.
“These apps from the Eldorado and Silver Legacy are really pushing the edge in technology for casinos and hotels, so I think it’s really exciting that a couple of hotel casinos in Reno, Nev., can put out something of this caliber that would rival probably any other travel industry app out there,” Hallert said.
Businesses and groups can access their own private meeting section to view group itineraries, speaker presentations, conference catering menus and more through a login page within the Eldorado app.
A slot finder will launch in November that will tell guests where their favorite games are located on the casino floor. An Android version of the Eldorado app is set to launch in early December.
Although the application has just launched, the casino has already had 500 downloads. An offer to upgrade to a suite will be given to the first 1,000 people to download.
