The Connecticut eighth-grader who lost his “Jeopardy!” bid by misspelling “emancipation” has yet to learn the lesson of humility.
“I was pretty disappointed that I was cheated out of the ‘Final Jeopardy!’ question,” Thomas Hurley told the Danbury News Times. “It was just a spelling error.”
Thomas isn’t alone, as the “Jeopardy!” Facebook page was inundated with angry viewers who want justice.
“Alex [Trebek] didn’t need to insult this kid’s spelling,” wrote Susan Jackson of Wingdale, N.Y. “Many people feel that Thomas is owed an apology.”
Here’s an idea: Someone print “I Am Thomas Hurley” T-shirts so we can all shine a light on this travesty.
