Ed Lee wagers with Fresno mayor over Cal Berkeley-Fresno State college football opener

Mayor Ed Lee has made a friendly wager with Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin over this weekend’s Cal Berkeley-Fresno State college football opener at Candlestick Park.

At stake is some of California’s finest bounty.

If Lee’s alma mater Cal wins, he will get wine, olive oil, nuts, fruits and vegetables. If Fresno wins, Lee will send Dungeness crab, Anchor Steam beer Ghirardelli chocolates and Philz coffee.

Both mayors will be present for the coin toss before the game on Saturday, which will be the first-ever regular season college football game at Candlestick. The Bears will play the rest of the season at AT&T Park while Memorial Stadium in Berkeley undergoes renovations.
