Driver punches crazed car-kicker

A 44-year-old man who yelled and tried to kick passing cars on Highway 101 in the Marina district late Wednesday was assaulted by an angry driver, police said.

The man reportedly kicked a gray SUV at Richardson Avenue and Chestnut Street around 11 p.m.

The driver of the SUV, a man in his mid-30s, got out of his car and punched the car-kicker in the face, police said.

The car-kicker fell to the ground and his head smacked on the street, police said.

The SUV driver got back into his car and fled, cops said.

The unruly pedestrian was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

There have been no arrests in the case.
