Is Drake facing arrest charges or isn’t he? Reports are conflicting in the aftermath of last week’s nightclub brawl involving Chris Brown. The NYPD told “Entertainment Weekly” that, “There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing” — adding that reports they’re seeking Drake are false.
But the U.K.’s Daily Mail says sources within the department leaked plans to arrest the Canadian rapper for reckless endangerment after a bystander tweeted photos of her bloody head injury from being hit by flying bottles. Photos of the trashed club show broken glass everywhere after the two performers’ entourages allegedly clashed. Rumors that a rivalry over Rihanna sparked the fight are unconfirmed.
The rapper’s rep has insisted that, “Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind [Wednesday] night at W.i.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began.”
But TMZ reports Chris has provided evidence Drake was involved in the brawl. Perhaps that means camera phone footage — since the site also notes that surveillance footage the club’s management handed over to cops is so dark as to be worthless. Which raises a question … what’s more important for a nightclub to provide: ambience or admissible evidence?
Meanwhile, as Drake may or may not face charges over Wednesday night’s brawl, his rival is apparently getting ever closer to the woman who’s allegedly behind their beef: Rihanna herself. She reportedly hooked up with her ex the very next night, and even ministered to his bloodied chin.
“Chris and Rihanna hung out at Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club all night, and it was clear that she loved the attention he was giving her,” a source told Radar Online. “And she tended to him, making sure the gash on his chin from the fight was okay.”
Ironic, considering the injuries to Rihanna’s face after Chris assaulted her were far worse.
Actor Nick Stahl has left rehab early, defying his doctors, a source informed “E! News.” The actor had entered treatment after briefly disappearing last month. At the time, his wife voiced fears that he might overdose.
“He left a week ago,” the source said. “ He just didn’t want to be there anymore.”
“It is very sad,” the source said. “He’s still struggling and has yet to hit rock bottom.”
Wait, are we supposed to root for him to hit rock bottom? That doesn’t sound right.
