DPW to lead weeklong cleanup efforts at Fisherman’s Wharf

With the help of the Department of Public Works, Fisherman’s Wharf will get a nice scrubbing next week.

DPW, in concert with a host of Fisherman’s Wharf businesses, will embark on a weeklong cleaning session at the popular tourist spot on San Francisco’s north end. The cleanup will include tree care, curb painting, graffiti removal and litter pickup. Potential volunteers are encouraged to call DPW at (415) 641-2600, or e-mail the agency at volunteer@sfdpw.org.

The cleaning begins on Monday, and will last through Saturday, at which time DPW will host a special event to celebrate the efforts of its volunteer cleaners. That event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon, at The Embarcadero and Bay Street intersection.
