Domestic violence funding to be restored

State Sen. Leland Yee's emergency legislation to restore funding to California’s domestic violence shelters will be signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger today — nearly three months after Schwarzenegger cut all state funding for the shelters. The legislation provides $16.3 million in funding for 94 shelters and centers. The funding will allow agencies to provide emergency shelter, transitional housing, legal advocacy and support services.
