Dog Whisperer to WH: Ur doing it wrong!

Who is in charge here?               (white house photo)

Beltway -- a dog owner -- has been secretly judgy for some time now about the leash-handling skills of the Obama family. Bo the dog, while winsome (and far less crabby than that awful Barney) appears to lack a certain demeanor that would ah, suggest a docile and well-trained member of the administration.

Cesar Millan, in Washington for a Q&A and book signing at National Geographic, has shown a little more verve than your reticent blogger, and confirmed that yes, there's a problem. Per Politico, from a CBS News interview with Millan:

"Americans who allow their dogs to walk them is one of his biggest peeves," CBS's Lesley Stahl said during her "Sunday Morning" profile of Millan. "If your dog doesn't learn how to follow, you'll never have a disciplined pet."

Millan said he noticed the problem the first day Bo came home to the White House.

"Day one was not a good scene," said Millan. "The dog always in front of the president of the United States."

Mr. President! Cesar Millan is in DC! You should invite him over for a training session with your family and dog. Getting Bo into a calm, submissive state cannot be any tougher than midterm campaigning. Just saying.
