Police are hunting for heartless goons who demanded money from a mother clutching to her 2-year-old son – and even threatened to kidnap the child –in the parking lot of the Target store in Daly City last week.
The victims, a family of four San Francisco residents, had been walking back to their car at about 7:45 p.m. on Thursday when the passenger of a green sedan demanded money from the mom, Daly City police said Monday.
When the mother said she didn’t have money, two men reportedly got out of the car and one of them reached for his pocket as if fetching a gun, although a gun was not seen.
“The suspect demanded money again and said he would find out where she lived and kidnap her son if she did not comply,” police said.
The family members collectively gave the suspects their money, police added, and the suspects fled the area.
The driver was described as a black man in his mid-30’s, about 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds. He was wearing a white baseball cap, gray sweatshirt and blue jeans, police said. The passenger was also black and in his mid-30’s, with “small twists” in his hair, police said. He was about 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, wearing a dark blue, long sleeved plaid shirt and blue jeans.
