Desperate Democrats want votes from jail

Are you incarcerated, but still want to vote? The Democrats are looking for you!

It’s no secret that Democrats are facing some awful numbers, with serious losses staring them in the face, but they’ve found a way to get those few extra votes – encouraging people to vote from jail. I’m not kidding.

In an email that went out from Texas Democratic Party Chairman Boyd Richie, he encouraged voters to request a ballot by mail for some of the standard reasons including, “going to be away from your county on Election Day and during Early Voting” and “sick or disabled.” Then there was a really interesting. Richie said if you’re “confined in jail,” and want to vote, you should also request a ballot. Wow. That’s desperation if I’ve ever seen it.

In Texas, this is no doubt targeted at Bill White, the former Mayor of Houston who is the Democrat’s nominee for Governor. He’s facing an uphill battle against Republican Rick Perry and is behind in the polls. This “Jail the Vote” strategy is just plain sad, but Bill White is desperate to win, as are Democrats across the country. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this same appeal to felons in Nevada, Delaware and California.

“Jail the Vote,” coming to an election near you!
