December 27-29: Weekend events in SF

FRIDAY

On the town

Improv theater: BATS Improv presents its "Holiday Musical," an improvised play set during the holidays and inspired by audience suggestions. [8 p.m., Bayfront Theater, Fort Mason Center, Marina Boulevard and Buchanan St., S.F.]

SATURDAY

A great hike

No angry birds: Bodega Bay may be best known as the backdrop for Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds," but there's a softer side to its dramatic coastline and its resident birds. The Birdwalk Coastal Access Trail loops around two ponds and provides a bird's-eye view of the bay. The marsh is home to thousands of feathered friends, among them snowy egrets and willets. Try connecting to the Cheney Creek Bridge Trail, which literally bridges to Doran Regional Park and its 2 miles of white sand beach.
