The effervescent tea enthusiast is co-founder of DAVIDsTEA. The Montreal-based retailer recently opened a site at 2123 Polk St., and more outlets in Noe Valley and Westfield Centre in The City and in Burlingame are slated to open by holiday time.

What’s the mission of DAVIDsTEA?

We want to make tea fun. We want people to energize their senses. We really treat tea like fashion; we serve from seasonal menus. Our fall blends are Banana Nut Bread, Indian Summer, Persian Apple, Pumpkin Chai and Toasted Marshmallow.

What’s unique about tea?

Tea is like a journey: it’s endless. It can be any herb or spice that you infuse with water — that’s not coffee. Just how many different varieties can we explore?

So how many types does DAVIDsTEA offer?

We have 150, and the largest selection of organic tea. Seventy are organic, and 80 are caffeine free. We have black, green, herbal, maté, oolong, pu’erh, rooibos and white teas.

How much does it cost?

About $14 to $16 for 100 grams, which makes about 50 cups of tea.
