A Reno man accused of stabbing a woman to death in his hometown last month has also become the prime suspect in the 2010 slaying of a homeless man in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.

After 36-year-old Daniel Hill was taken into custody in connection with a casino parking lot killing, detectives were able to link him to the murder of 53-year-old Michael Ponder on Aug. 28, 2010, police said.

At about 7:30 a.m. that morning, police said, a Park Station police officer who was patrolling known transient campgrounds in Golden Gate Park discovered Ponder’s body up against the fence of Kezar Stadium.
