Daily Outrage: Woman fakes cancer to avoid feeling like ‘I’m nothing'

WHO: Ashley Anne Kirilow, 23, of Toronto has admitted to faking cancer, running a bogus charity and collecting $19,400 from people who thought she was dying. One cancer victim support group even flew her to Disney World to fulfill what she said was a last wish.

HOW: Kirilow shaved her head and eyebrows, plucked her eyelashes and starved herself to look like she was going through chemotherapy. She networked with local charities and recruited volunteers on her 4,000-member Facebook page to help her organize benefit concerts for herself.

WHY SHE DID IT: “I didn’t want to feel like I’m nothing anymore,” Kirilow told the Toronto Star. So far, neither her family nor anyone else has posted her bail.
