Crooks target jewelry-clad man walking in the Mission district 

A man was robbed of his necklace in a Mission district assault on Wednesday, police

The 59-year-old victim was walking near 24th and Lilac streets when one of two men
walked past and ripped the victim’s necklace off and fled, police said. The victim tried to
chase after the thief but was stopped by the second suspect. The two crooks fled south on

Lilac Street and no arrests have been made.

The first suspect was described by police as a black man in his 20s and the second
suspect was said to be a Hispanic teenaged boy.
