Crooks lock themselves out of stolen car

Two bumbling buffoons were busted Monday after locking themselves out of the car they had stolen, police said.

Ingleside cops said they saw the thieves using a crowbar to get into the car in the 3300 block of Mission Street. As they approached, some of the suspects fled in multiple directions, police said. Officers stopped two of the thieves.

The officers ran a check on the vehicle and found that it had been reported stolen four days before.

The suspects claimed they were only trying to get into the car, police said. However, surveillance footage from the parking lot showed the suspects getting out of the car and locking themselves out, cops said.

The suspects were booked.
