Crooks caught screwing around in one of many San Francisco crimes 

A couple crooks had a case of the Mondays when their plan to break into a house was foiled by cops. Cellphone thieves, however, scored on Monday.

3400 block of Mission Street
4:46 p.m. Monday

Two crooks were arrested trying to break into a home, police said. An anonymous caller reported to police that a man was removing bars from the window of the house with a screwdriver while another man acted as look out. Cops arrived and arrested the crooks. They told police they were trying to get into the house because they were cold.

Mission Street and Persia Avenue
4 p.m. Monday

A man was pickpocketed by a female thief while riding Muni, cops said. Upon entering the bus, the victim put his cellphone in his right pocket. A woman sat down next to him. When he left the bus he noticed his phone was gone.

1800 block of Ocean Avenue
11:15 p.m. Monday

A man’s cellphone was stolen from the treadmill he’d been working out on, cops said. The man told cops that when he went to refresh himself at the water fountain he returned to his treadmill to see his phone gone.

Eddy and Divisadero streets
4:35 p.m. Monday

Two teens from Chinatown were robbed by three thugs, police said. The teens were surrounded by the thugs who stole their cellphones and cash. Police located suspects nearby but the teens could not definitively identify the thugs.
